HR
The HR area covers everything to do with your team: their records, their time, their pay, and their day-to-day requests.
What it does
HR stores an employee record for every team member, then layers on attendance, leave, shifts, payroll, and performance tracking on top. It also covers the edges of the employee lifecycle — recruiting new hires, onboarding them, and generating official letters.
Key screens
Employees — each employee's profile holds personal documents, a document-expiry tracker (so expiring IDs or visas get flagged), emergency contacts, and visa/passport details where relevant.
Leaves — employees apply for leave from here; managers Approve or Reject requests. Leave Types (sick, vacation, unpaid, etc.) and each type's Quota are configured separately.
Attendance — employees clock in and clock out, including map-based clock-in for location verification. Admins can bulk mark attendance, import records, handle regularisation (correcting a missed clock-in/out), and export attendance data.
Shift Roster — define shifts and schedules, assign employees to them, handle shift change requests, and manage rotation between shifts.
Holiday — the company holiday calendar.
Designation / Department — job titles and departments, viewable as an organization hierarchy.
Appreciation / Awards — recognize employees publicly for good work.
Onboarding / Offboarding — checklists for bringing a new hire up to speed or wrapping up when someone leaves.
Payroll — salary records, increment history, payroll cycles, hourly rates, and overtime policies and requests.
Performance — OKRs (goals), check-ins, meetings with agendas, and action items to track follow-through.
Recruit — a careers page for job postings, incoming applications, candidate records, interview rounds, and job offers.
Letter — generate official documents (offer letters, experience letters, etc.) from templates and download them.
Policy Center — publish company policies, have employees acknowledge them, and collect e-signatures where required.
Step-by-step: common tasks
Add a new employee
- Go to HR → Employees and click Create.
- Fill in personal details, department, designation, and start date.
- Upload required documents; the system tracks their expiry dates automatically.
Approve a leave request
- Go to Leaves and find the pending request.
- Review the leave type and dates against the employee's Quota.
- Approve or Reject; the employee is notified either way.
Set up attendance tracking
- Go to Attendance and configure clock-in/out rules (including map-based location if needed).
- Employees clock in and out from their own dashboard.
- Use Regularisation to fix a missed punch, and Export when you need the data for payroll or reporting.
Run payroll for the month
- Go to Payroll and review each employee's salary, hourly rate, and any overtime requests.
- Apply any increments recorded in Increment History.
- Process the payroll cycle.
Hire someone new end to end
- Post the role through Recruit's careers page.
- Move applicants through Interview Rounds.
- Send a Job Offer, then run them through Onboarding once accepted, creating their Employee record.
Tips
- Set Leave Quotas per leave type at the start of the year so employees always see an accurate balance.
- Turn on document-expiry tracking for anything with a renewal date (visas, certifications) so nothing lapses unnoticed.
- Use the Designation/Department hierarchy view to keep an accurate org chart without a separate tool.
- Publish company policies through Policy Center rather than emailing PDFs — you get a record of who acknowledged what.
